Nick's Hiking Adventure

When we first arrived at our camping spot, Nick noticed the mountain across the lake and said he was going to swim across the lake to the mountain and climb it. Below is a picture of the lake and mountain taken from our camping spot.

As the days passed, Nick realized how large the lake was and decided to climb the mountain and skip the swim.

The plan was for my dad to give him a ride over to the mountain by boat and pick him up after he finished hiking. Now here is where we messed up! We broke all of the rules for dropping someone off at a snake infested mountain!

Things we didn't do or think about:

- Nick went on his hike without water!

- We didn't coordinate a time with Nick for when to be down the mountain.

- Nick wore a grey t-shirt that blended in quite nicely with the mountain.

- We didn't discuss the path that Nick would be taking up the mountain in detail.

- We didn't have a pair of binoculars.

- And the list goes on and on...but you get the point! Not Smart!

Thankfully Nick made it up and down the mountain safely, but there was a period of time where we thought that we might be in trouble! Thankfully Nick brought his water proof camera case with him, it caught the sun and was glistening as he was walking down to the shore.
